A Spring Break Body

Hola from the Big Apple. AKA, New York City. I would like to think that I brought along the sunshine & warm temp’s. But secretly I think Spring is just ready to get here!

For most of us Winter has been a bear. And believe me 2 blizzards in 6 days was enough to make me jump ship to another coast. I think San Diego is calling my name!

Coming out of hibernation is like a little child learning how to walk for the first time. We want to work off those extra pounds in a day. Become healthy by replacing water for coffee (for all of 10 seconds). And spring to life by tackling the toughest hills around (well maybe not but you get the idea).

It’s important to remember that success doesn’t happen overnight (sorry to be the bearer of bad news). For most of us we want instant results. Myself included. I want super duper race times. Lighting fast swim laps. And a wish to suddenly not crave a slice of Double Decker Chocolate Cake  (kidding).

Here are simple ideas for getting that Spring Break Body:

  • Think positive. Your mind is powerful. Exercise it.
  • Get rid of sugar. Yeah, I harp on this topic. But cutting sugar out of your diet, life, day, cup, plate, world-you get the picture-will help you in the Spring Break body quest.
  • Become a morning person. I don’t care how much you hate it, get up early in the morning! If you don’t workout in the morning, chances are VERY high you won’t do it later on. Start the day off right. Sweat.
  • Drink water. Drink water. Drink water. ‘nuf said
  • Repeat. Don’t stop eating right, working out and living a healthy life! The beach is calling your name. Be ready for it!

If Winter was a challenge for you to stay in shape or eat right, Spring will motivate you to get back in shape. For your life. Not just for a Spring Break Body. Although that is a good incentive:) A Spring Break Body shouldn’t just be for Spring alone. It should be for Summer, Fall, and Winter.
