The Project
Celebration Ride is a personal, athletic project of Sarah Stanley to celebrate her birthday. And raise awareness on childhood obesity. She will be cycling over 300 miles from Washington, DC to New York City, NY with additional stops at Annapolis, MD, Baltimore, MD and Philadelphia, PA. School visits will be a major part of the project- inspiring kids to live a healthy, active and happy life. Partnering with ING Run For Something Better, Sarah will raise awareness and funds for the program. The Celebration Ride will start on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 and wrap up on Monday, September 20, 2010. The full schedule can be found here.

50 miles. 50 states. A Healthier Generation.
Ultra runner and endurance athlete Sarah Stanley has a vision to encourage kids- old & young alike to live a healthy life. And the project Run Ride Inspire will inspire a nation to get off the couch and on their feet. Run Ride Inspire is a feat of endurance that will include running and biking 50 miles (or a combination of the two) in all 50 states, all while raising awareness of childhood obesity to a support nonprofit organization.
“Not only is Run Ride Inspire the ultimate personal challenge, but it gives me the platform to engage thousands of people across the country in a conversation about fitness and healthy living,” said Sarah. “I’m happy to sweat in order to educate children and adults with the knowledge, motivation, and tools they need to lead healthier, happier lives.”
While running and training for the events across all 50 states, Stanley will be sharing her adventures and passion for healthy living online and in person, all while inspiring others to get active and reach for their dreams. The project is slated for launch in 2011.
Run Ride Inspire & Celebration Ride is currently recruiting Inspired Ambassadors from each state who will help Sarah plan educational stops, group workouts, and other outreach efforts throughout the country. If you are interested in being considered for this, or other volunteer opportunities, please send an email with a brief bio and experience description to team@runrideinspire.com

Sarah started running when she was 14 to deal with stress and the difficulty of life. Instead of turning to negative things, she found that running was a positive thing. Up at 4:30am Monday through Friday morning, she ran, and she's been running ever since.
